Dropshipping is an order fulfillment strategy that allows sellers to ship products directly from suppliers to customers. Instead of storing the product in a warehouse and handling the shipping, the seller hands over the responsibility to the supplier. This significantly reduces inventory and warehouse maintenance costs.

In order to use dropshipping as an order fulfillment strategy in Odoo, you need to complete the following steps:

1. Activate dropshipping in settings

Go to the "Settings" module:

In the "Purchases" section, check the "Dropshipping" box:

2. Set up products for dropshipping

Open the card of the product that is sold via dropshipping. Go to the "Warehouse" tab. In the "Routes" section, check the box next to "Dropshipping":

3. Add the product supplier

In the "Purchase" tab, be sure to specify the name of the main supplier of this product. Here you can add several suppliers, but the one listed first will be automatically selected for orders:

4. Selling products via dropshipping

Create a commercial offer for the sale of the configured product. When it is confirmed, an order to the supplier will be automatically generated in draft status:

Confirm the generated order to the supplier:

After that, a dropship invoice will be automatically created in the database (it will be available from both the supplier order and the customer order):

It will record the fact of shipment of goods from the supplier to the customer.

After the product is delivered to the customer, indicate the actual quantity of the product delivered and click the "Confirm" button.

To view all active dropship invoices, you can also go to the general overview of the "Warehouse" module and click on the "In progress" button in the "Dropship" operation type:

Also create an invoice for the client in the database and enter an invoice from the supplier to calculate the debt in the Odoo system.
